Why Should I scan my photographs / documents?
We know how valuable your photographs can be.  Scanning your photographs means that you can store your photographs digitally and ensure you have your memories for ever.

Why Should I transfer my VHS to DVD?
The lifespan of a VHS tape is between 8 - 10 years. By transferring your VHS to a DVD will ensure that you can treasure your memories for many more years to come.

Why Should I use Photoscanned4u?
We are a small family run company, dedicated to helping you look after your photographs and memories.  We will treat your goods as if they were our own.

Where are you based?
Photoscanned4u is based in Westerham, West Kent on the border of the London Borough of Bromley.

How much does it cost?

What can I scan?
Photoscanned4u is able to scan original photographs from passport size to A4. We can also scan 35mm negatives & slides and documents up to A4 size.

What do I get back?
When we return your original photographs, slides, negatives or documents we will send you a CD or DVD (depending on how many images you have had scanned) with your images as jpegs. You will receive your CD or DVD in a case with a printed cover.  Photoscanned4u will choose an image from your images to be used on the CD or DVD and cover. If you would like to suggest an image please inform as at time of booking.
Your VHS tape will be transfered onto a DVD and your 3.5" Floppy documents will be transfered onto a CD.

Will you look after my items?
Photoscanned4u will look after your items as if they were our own and will ensure the safe return to you.

How do I send you my items?
Photoscanned4u postal address will be provided to you on request of an order form. When sending your photographs / documents, we highly recommend using a recorded delivery to guarantee safe receipt.  We will email you as soon as your package arrives.

Can I hand deliver my items or will you collect them?
Photoscanned4u is based in West Kent on the borders of the London Borough of Bromley and Surrey. A collection and delivery service is available. Click here to find out more about this service. 

Can you guarantee safe delivery?
Photoscanned4u will use special delivery methods to send your items to you. Please ensure that you provide an address where someone can sign for the package. Click here to see our postage information.

What does dpi mean?
Dpi is dots per inch. We recommend and scan at 600dpi to ensure the quality of the image is maintained.

Do you scan at a higher dpi?
Yes, we can scan up to 9600 dpi. Please click here to contact us to discuss your needs.

How will I be able to find the image on the CD?
Each image is given a numerical filename during the scanning process. If you are scanning multiple photograph albums it may be worth your while ordering a contact sheet to accompany your cd. The contact sheet is an A4 sheet which will show a small colour image and the filename making it easy to locate your image. Contact sheets can be purchased at £1 per sheet.

What is a jpeg?
A jpeg is a digital file of your photographic images.

Will my DVD Slide Show work outside of the UK?
Photoscanned4u will create your slide show to be compatible with the UK PAL system. Please state at time of booking if you want to use our services and send the DVD to someone outside of the UK.

Will you back up my images for me?
Photoscanned4u will back up your images for two months free of charge. This will ensure you receive your images and can allow us time to rectify any problems or if you would like to order additional copies. We can back up your images for longer and if you would like a quote please contact us at time of booking.
